Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of a hair transplant is calculated by the number of grafts to be transplanted (a transplant unit that contains 1–4 hairs).

There are up to 300 causes of hair loss, and the diagnosis is made by a trichologist. In women, hair loss can be caused by endocrine system diseases, hormonal imbalance, during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. It can also result from long-term use of medications, chemotherapy, stress, unhealthy lifestyle, or poor nutrition. In men, 90% of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, which is caused by genetic predisposition and an excess of male sex hormones called androgens.

A hair transplant operation can be considered successful when the patient’s expectations match the actual result. For this, it is necessary that the operation is performed by a highly qualified surgeon who uses advanced technologies and plans the procedure as rationally as possible. It is also important for the patient to be well-informed and to receive all the details related to the operation.

A hair transplant operation has no side effects.

A hair transplant operation is performed under local anesthesia, and the procedure is completely painless.

After a hair transplant, the patient has no special restrictions, so from the 2nd or 3rd day they can return to their normal lifestyle. The only limitation is exercise, which is restricted for 10 days after the transplant.

The exact number of grafts to be transplanted is determined during a consultation. The doctor will design the hairline according to the patient’s wishes, calculate the number of square centimeters in the bald area, and assess the hair density. An approximate number of grafts can also be estimated through an online consultation via WhatsApp or Viber at the number 591509090, for which the patient needs to send photos of their head.

How soon can we expect results after a hair transplant?

The transplanted hair begins to grow after 2.5–3 months. By 6 months, the initial and quite noticeable results are visible, and the final result is achieved after 1 year, when all the transplanted hair has grown.

With our hair transplant calculator, you can also find out approximately how many grafts you may need.

For androgenetic (male-pattern) alopecia up to grade 5, only one hair transplant operation is needed. Since the transplanted hair lasts a lifetime, a repeat procedure is not necessary. In cases of grade 6–7 androgenetic alopecia, to achieve a good result, the hair transplant is planned in two stages. In the first stage, half of the bald area is covered, from the hairline to the crown, and in the second stage the crown area is restored. The second hair transplant operation is performed 8–10 months later.

The duration of a hair transplant operation depends on the number of grafts to be transplanted. The procedure is carried out in three stages, with the patient resting for half an hour between stages to have breakfast or tea. On average, a hair transplant operation lasts 4–6 hours.

Hair transplantation in women is performed only in specific cases: androgenetic alopecia (male-pattern hair loss), scarring alopecia (after burns, surgery, or trauma), traction alopecia (caused by tight hairstyles), and for high forehead correction. A hair transplant operation is also successful in women if the diagnosis is accurate and the procedure is properly planned.

After 2.5–3 months from the hair transplant, the hair begins to grow. By 6 months, the initial result is already visible, and the final result is achieved at the end of 1 year, when all the transplanted hair has grown.
